BATTLE OF THE ONE ACTS 2026
STUDENT WRITTEN, STUDENT DIRECTED
Calling all dramatic writers!
If you are interested in writing a script for a 10-ish-minute play, submit the script and your contact information through the form below by April 3, 2026.
Submission Guidelines
The requirements and restrictions to submit a script to Edinboro University Players’ 2026 production of Battle of the One Acts are as follows:

All scripts must have at least 2 actors (no monologues), and no more than 5 actors or 5 speaking characters on stage at once.
All scripts must be a complete story that is approximately 10 minutes in length. Scripts shorter than 5 pages or scripts longer than 15 pages will not be accepted.
Any genre of submission is allowed and encouraged, as we aim to perform a combination of both comedy and drama. We recommend that entries stay away from more political or controversial topics, and while profanity is allowed, it may be censored at the director’s discretion. Please do not submit scripts with content that is Not Safe for Work (such as sexual content or nudity).
All scripts will go through a jurying process, and the selected scripts will be assigned directors to be cast and performed in Fall 2026. Please let us know along with your submission if you would allow our group to store your script to use in future productions if it is not chosen for Fall 2026.
There will be no direct financial compensation for the submissions, but the authors maintain rights over their work. By submitting a script, you are giving Edinboro University Players the right to perform your script once, which cannot be rescinded once a show is selected. Free tickets will be reserved for the authors at each performance. Think of this process as a work-shopping opportunity, where you write a script, watch it performed, and from the performance and crowd’s reactions possibly edit the script before submitting it for further publication.
Contact edinborotheater@gmail.com with any questions, and we are excited to see your scripts!
