The requirements and restrictions to submit a script to Edinboro University Players’ 2025 production of Battle of the One Acts are as follows: 

 

• Nothing Not Safe for Work will be accepted. Please use your own judgement. 

• No scripts that are entirely political will be accepted. References to or jokes about politics are discouraged.  

• Swearing is not prohibited, but excessive swearing is discouraged. 

• While there is no set age rating for this show, accessibility to audience and maturity is a factor in the script selection process.  

• All scripts must have at least 2 actors (no monologues), and no more than 5 actors or 5 speaking characters on stage at once.  

• All scripts must be a complete story that is approximately 10 minutes in length. Scripts shorter than 5 pages or scripts longer than 15 pages will not be accepted.  

• Authors are encouraged to write both comedic and dramatic scripts. Through the script selection process, we aim to have a balance of mood and genre.  

• For a script to be selected, it must be possible for our group to put on. Scripts that rely heavily on specific elements of set, prop, or complicated light and sound design may not be chosen. Other important information: 

During the spring semester, from February 14-17, Edinboro University Players will host a workshop at which authors will have the opportunity to see their scripts read and performed by our actors. After this workshop, authors will have the ability to submit an edited script.  

 

All authors receive one complimentary ticket per performance to see their show onstage during the Battle of the One Acts 2025 show run.
